NEWS: Women’s League roundup 14/15 October

Streatham Storm picked up their first Elite League win, edging a 2-1 home decision over Kingston Diamonds. Beth Scoon gave Kingston a first period lead before Sarah Barton and Melissa Reidelberger netted in the third period to give Storm the points.
Playoff winners Solihull Vixens opened their account for the season with a 4-1 success at Sheffield Shadows. After a scoreless first period the teams shared three goals in first five minutes of the middle session. Katie Henry (20.34, 24.06) scored twice for Vixens with Jodie Bloom (25.03) on target. Kat Lossnitzer added a third for Solihull before the second break, before Kennedy Wallace rounded off the scoring in the final period.
Chelmsford Cobras made it two wins from two, winning 6-0 at Kingston Diamonds. Jennifer Bolton scored four goals, Tereza Plankova and Angelina Woolard added the others. Lucy Jarvis saved 33 shots for the shutout.
Another four-goal performance on Sunday was at Widnes where Nottingham’s Megan Rathbone was on form to lead the Vipers to a 5-3 win at Widnes Wild Women. Madison Wright scored Nottingham’s other goal, while Emma Pearson, Amanda Williams and Leen De Decker (SH) lit the lamp for Widnes. Highlights from the game can be watched here.
Basingstoke Bison Ladies began their 17/18 season with an 11-0 success at Invicta Dynamics. Jodie Attrill (5+0) and Peri Edmiston (3+1) lead the way on the scoresheet as Bison peppered 97 shots on the Invicta net.
