NEWS: Hull’s Ryan Watt suspended for remainder of season
March 10, 2017
Hull Pirates forward Ryan Watt has been suspended by the EPIHL for the remainder of the 2016/2017 season.
Watt was assessed a Match penalty for fighting at 13.35 of the game against Peterborough Phantoms at Hull on March 4 after he clashed with Phantoms’ Will Weldon.
After reviewing the penalty, the EPIHL discipline panel have imposed a suspension until May 1, 2017 meaning the player will take no further part in this season.
The panel considered that Watt carried out a blindside attack on Weldon, targetting the head and giving the player no chance to defend himself.
A full explanation of the decision has been supplied to Hull Pirates. There are no other offences involved other than accumulation of penalty points.
In a separate discipline decision, Telford Tigers’ Milan Kolena has reached 10 penalty points so under the totting up process he is suspended for the next two games.
