Murphy Satisfied With Three Point Weekend Against Devils

Stena Line Belfast Giants netminder Stephen Murphy played a vital role in helping his team claim three points from an available four against the Cardiff Devils last weekend at the Odyssey Arena. In 120 minutes of action, Murphy only allowed two goals past him and says that three points from the two games is good and that the Giants came up against a tough opposition at the weekend:

“After a weekend as tough as that, to get three points is not bad, we’ll take it. Ask us at the start of the weekend, we’d obviously want the four points but to come away with three points we should be pretty happy as we came up against a tough team and a hot goalie. To have two ‘one goal’ games and come away with three points is a sign that we came up against a good team. They fought hard and battled hard and we managed to outwork them in the end.”
