More Players Confirmed For Elliott Testimonial!

From Swindonites to Essex folk, we have four more names confirmed for the Darren Elliott Testimonial game!

Jamie Thomson, the first of the Testimonial Team Select net-minders is no stranger to the Oxpens Arena and its fans! Juice as he is known within hockey circles resides in sunny Swindon and first iced for the Stars back in 2003/04 season and featured during two further spells including last season for a couple of games when Oxford experienced injuries. As a former EPL League and Playoff winner Juice carries a vast amount of experience and has been around the game for a long time and will personally know the majority of players on show for the event. We look forward to seeing this all action netty back at Oxford in June!

Another Swindon local and former Stars defenceman Adam Andrews will ice for the Testimonial Team Select. Adz made his debut for the Stars back in the 2003/04 season and stayed with the Stars for three seasons in total before moving back to Swindon to play for the Wildcats in the EPL. The current Coventry Blaze NIHL assistant captain had no hesitation in agreeing to make his way back down south to play his part in the Testimonial celebrations and will be reunited on the ice with Elliott for the first time since 2006!

The all action current Stars assistant captain Alex Staples will line up for the Testimonial Stars Team with Essex fans in tow! Stapes joined the Stars two seasons ago when he relocated to Oxford from his hometown Chelmsford after accepting a role with his current company. Stars fans have become accustomed to witnessing vital goals, big hits and high tempo hockey during his time with the Stars and with no fewer than nine championship titles to his name (seven with Chelmsford and two with Oxford), a competitive edge and winning mentality will surely be added to the game when he steps onto the ice!

The Testimonial Stars Team have another forward with Tom Davis secured! The current Stars forward has completed his first season with Oxford this term after he was snapped up during the summer to add some much needed depth to the squad. Previously one of the fans favourite opposition players to boo when playing against Oxford, Tom has experienced the unique team bond that Elliott has so often previously referred to at the club and has shown that he is a real team guy.
