Marc Levers Joins Phantoms

The DALROD sponsored Peterborough Phantoms have this evening announced the signing of former Nottingham Panther Marc Levers.

Levers is a former GB U18, U20 and Mens Senior International and has a wealth of experience playing at the highest level in the UK. He has over 520 Elite League appearances and has collected 11 trophies whilst playing for the Nottingham Panthers and the Belfast Giants.

He played his junior Hockey in Nottingham before playing for the Nottingham Panthers at the end of the Superleague and the ENL Nottingham Lions in 2000-01. He spent the next season on the Isle of Wight in the EPL before moving to the Basingstoke Bison in the old BNL (British National League) for the 2002-03 season.

He returned to his hometown in 2003 to play for the Nottingham Panthers in the newly formed Elite League before moving to the Belfast Giants for 3 seasons. During this time he was also selected to play for Great Britain in the IIHF World Championships. In 2007 Marc returned to the Nottingham Panthers where he has since remained, picking up several trophies along the way.

Phantoms Head Coach, Jon Kynaston, said of the signing on Wednesday “Marc is a very experienced guy and a very versatile player. Has plied his trade mainly as a forward but in recent years has played very well in defence.

“He will bring composure on the puck, improving our simple distribution, and he will bring a high work ethic which is a vital ingredient for me.

“Marc will bring character and passion to the team and I firmly believe Marc will be a very positive addition to our squad. He will fit in very well and be an accomplished defenceman for us, offering versatility when we need it.”
