Leeds Liverpool Canal Challenge 2015

On June 26th – 27th members Blueliner Hockey site are riding the 127 miles of the Leeds Liverpool Canal in aid of 2 charities – The Bloom Appeal and Reverse Rett.


The Bloom Appeal is a Merseyside based charity for blood cancer. The aims are

  • Supporting the care and well-being of patients with blood cancers and helping the and their families.
  • Funding scientific research into treating and curing leukaemias, lymphomas and other blood cancers.
  • Enhancing the education of patients, scientists and healthcare professionals.

Reverse Rett works to speed treatments and a cure for Rett Syndrome and related MECP2 disorders by funding research that will have a practical and positive impact on our children’s lives. We fund research from basic science to clinical trials and work to facilitate the translation of this work into clinical applications for people with Rett Syndrome and related MECP2 disorders.

Neil Tucker

Neil has written on ice hockey for many websites concentrating on British ice hockey mostly. Neil also covers ice hockey in other countries and organises his Blueliner Hockey Tour. A graduate of the Manchester Metropolitan University Neil turned his hand to hockey writing in 2009. As well as contributing on Blueliner Hockey Neil has contributed to Get Real Hockey and Slapshot Magasine.
