Lee Pollitt returns for another season with the Hawks
The Blackburn Hawks are pleased to announce the re-signing of British forward Lee Pollitt.
Born in Salford, 22 year old Lee finished the season last year with the Hawks where he scored 17 points in 23 games and 90 minutes in penalties, prior to the Hawks he played for Altrincham Aces.
Lee, a product of the Manchester Junior system has plenty of NIHL experience having previously iced for the Manchester Minotaurs / Trafford Metros, Blackburn Eagles and the Widnes Wild. He also played a year in Canada in the GMHL where he iced for the Temiscaming Titans
On signing his new deal Lee commented, “I’m really excited to get back to work with the lads this year. Talking amongst the lads we’re confident and there’s been some really positive movements around the club. After a disappointing year last year and picking up a couple of injuries I’m working hard to make sure that I’m coming back healthy and ready to play”.
With Coach Duncombe on honeymoon, Assistant Coach James Neil commented on Lee’s re-signing and said, “Pol is a solid two-way player who plays the game in the right way and will do anything for the team to win games, it was a tough season for him with injuries last year but we are confident he will be back to do a job. Last year in some of the bigger games he was one of our better players, he knows his role and what is expected of him and only wants to get better as a player”.
With the news this morning that Richard Bentham will be plying his trade elsewhere in the NIHL for the forthcoming season, the club can confirm that we made Richard an offer we felt was appropriate, but he decided it was time to move on. We thank Richard for his time in a Hawks shirt and wish him all the best for the future.
