Klima departs

DSC_6949-2Streatham Redskins are disappointed to announce that Czech forward
Jakub Klima will not be returning for the 2013/14 season.

Klima signed for Streatham last season from Chelmsford and made a big
impact in South London during his time in a Redskins jersey.

A popular player with fans and team mates alike, Jakub won NIHL Player
of the Season in the annual Pro Hockey News awards.

“Although I would have liked Jakub back next season the economics were
such it was never really going to happen” explained coach Warren Rost.

“It’s a shame because I think the boys were very supportive and, we
got the best out of him but we had good run together last season so he
leaves with our best wishes”

“What I would add is that this isn’t a surprise and I was waiting for
this situation to resolve itself before moving in another direction
out of respect for the player. His departure frees up space in the
roster and room in the budget for someone else to come in”

Streatham are already in talks with a number of players and will look
to announce members of the squad as soon as possible.
