Jon Adams ‘a friend and a gentleman’ – you will be missed
All of the players , management and everyone associated with the Club are understandably devastated by the sad loss of Jon Adams, our friend and former team mate. All of our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very difficult and distressing time.
To remember Jon’s time with the Hawks, this year’s shirts will carry the Canadian maple leaf logo shown below in the left chest position, to mark his time as a member of the Hawks family.
Hawks captain Chris Arnone and team-mate Ollie Lomax, who’s idea it was to create the video pleading for Jon to get in touch, each had the following to say about today’s tragic news:
“We are all truly devastated and heart broken. It’s upsetting when things like this happen to people you don’t know, but for it to be a good friend and ex team mate it is so hard to take in. He was obviously battling his demons but unfortunately couldn’t defeat them. He was one of the boys as soon as he stepped into the room, we automatically had that bond that would never be broken. Our thoughts go out to his family over the pond and hope they can stick together and get through this horrible time.
RIP JON Lad

“Today we have not only lost a team mate but a gentleman and a friend. As soon as he landed on our shores he fit straight into the room both on & off the ice, it was like he had been there for years. We will treasure our memories that we shared together & will never forget them. I’d like to thank the rest of my team mates for putting the YouTube video together regarding Jon, it’s very emotive & shows just how much he meant to each and every one of us. I’d personally like to send out my thanks to his parents Doug & Mai for letting us have the privilege to play alongside their son, and also deepest sympathies in this tragic time. A special mention must go to Nick Riley and his partner Vicky who homed Jon, I know he loved his time there. Lastly a message to our wonderful supporters, thank you for the kind messages and support shown towards us, we will play in Jon’s memory and look to hit the ground running in September.
