Join The Giants And Save A Life With NIBTS

The Belfast Giants are pleased to support the Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service’s Donor Week and along with Captain Adam Keefe, the organisation are encouraging all fans to sign up to become a blood donor. In Northern Ireland alone there are around 500 people needing blood in every week, including many of our own fans.

It is a cause close to the heart of Captain Adam Keefe, who explains the importance of giving blood, “There are bigger things in life than hockey. 14 year old Tom Simpson is long time Belfast Giants season ticket holder and true warrior, needs blood fortnightly to survive, and so do many others.”

Paul McElkerney of the Blood Transfusion Service:
“Hopefully Giants fans will get behind Tom, by coming forward to enrol to give blood and save someone’s life, just like his!”

Belfast Giants players and fans recently took part in a photo shoot to mark Tom’s 250th transfusion and raise awareness that 200 new donors are needed every week to help keep Tom and many others alive.
