JLMC: Little League gets a little brother (or sister!)
June 4, 2017
The Little League programme set-up a few years ago has received a massive boost in the last few days with the announcement that Trafford Tornados are to establish their own Little League programme which will be hosted at Altrincham Ice Arena, Near Manchester.
Incoming Trafford Chairman and long standing Little League supporter, Seth Bennett, has made arrangements to host the first Lil’ League event at Altrincham on Saturday 10th June and the Tornados are now busy making final plans to host a growing number of U9 and U11 players eager for these high-tempo, all-action development opportunities.
The Tornados have set-up their own Lil’ League TeamApp which is open to all EIHA registered players looking for additional development opportunities. Join their App here: https://tornadoslittleleague.teamapp.com
Tornados Manager Claire Bennett has been planning this event for a number of weeks and has said that there are a few places remaining so anyone wishing to get involved next weekend should join the App today to avoid disappointment.
Announcing the event, the Tornados have confirmed the format will be 3 on 3 cross ice action for players born 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009. Players will be drafted into teams.
36 x player places, 6 x goalie places. Entrance fee £10 per player.
3pm – Registration & access to changing rooms
3.45pm – On ice for warm-up and drills with Manchester Storm Head Coach Ryan Finnerty
4.15pm – Games begin
6.00pm – Close
PLEASE NOTE: The event will be followed by an all-star Manchester Storm & Phoenix match raising funds for those affected by the recent attack in Manchester. Because of this event we will need to move all kit bags etc out of the changing rooms and into skate hire or the party rooms by 3.45pm where players can de-kit at 6pm. Thanks for your understanding on this.
Good Luck to the Tornados – go and give them your support so that we have more of these fantastic events on the Stage 1 Calendar!
