Jake Nurse waves farewell to Hawks
It is with some sadness that we announce that Jake Nurse has decided that he will not be returning to Blackburn this season.
Hawks coach Daniel MacKriel said: “Unfortunately, work commitments mean that Jake can’t commit to our schedule for the full season. He has signed at the Altrincham Aces with a lower commitment, so he still gets to play hockey which is great for Jake.
He has been a great servant, and will be missed in the dressing room and by the fans alike. I had hoped that the situation would have changed, but now it’s apparent that it won’t. He is the most honest player I’ve ever come across and one who would have been a great signing, but obviously work and family life balance comes first.
A fit, hungry Jake Nurse will be a fantastic signing for the Aces and we all wish him the best for his future.”
Jake would like to say the following to the fans:
“To the best fans in the league. I’ve made the decision the play for the Altrincham Aces for the remainder of the season.
With work commitments I can’t commit to hockey as fully as I would like to, and Altrincham being so close to home will make things easier. I wanted to say a huge thank you to all the fans and the people behind the scenes. I can’t thank you enough, your support has been amazing and without you the Invincibles wouldn’t have been possible.
I’ve played my 2 best years of hockey at Blackburn and I will never forget how great this club has been to me.
We hope that you will join us in wishing Jake all the best for the future.
