Interview with Stars Head Coach Simon Anderson
Talking to Oxfordshire Sports Online before training on Wednesday night, Simon reflected on last Sunday night’s sobering 7-1 defeat to Streatham, “I wish Sunday’s performance was Saturday really, then we could have played the following night and put it right”, “Streatham were excellent and didn’t let us play, but we have to work harder”, “we need to be better than that”.
The Stars early season form has stuttered recently with 2 defeats in their last 4 NIHL S1 games, and Coach Anderson is looking to improve on recent performances this weekend, “It’s been a long couple of days, a lot of soul searching, and we’re looking forward to getting on the ice tonight”, “Streatham were excellent and didn’t let us play, but we have to work harder, we need to be better than that”.
The Stars so far this season have the welcome record of not having lost 2 games in a row, something they’re looking to continue going into this weekend, “when we lose, we want to bounce right back, and we now have to go and beat the league leaders away. We’ll go to Chelmsford with total confidence, we play them 3 times between now and Christmas which will have a massive bearing on where we finish in the league”.
And Simon signed off with a positive message for fans: “hopefully we’ll feel good on Saturday coming back with 2 points from Chelmsford”.
