Braehead Clan 3 Hull Stingrays 0

For the first time in six attempts Clan finally found a way to unlock Stingrays, with goaltender Kyle Jones making 22 saves for his EIHL season leading fourth shutout of the season.

Clan move up to third in the league standings with this win while Stingrays record breaking club winning run was ended at six games.

Both sides were attacking in the opening period but defences were on top with few clear scoring chances created, Clan did take one of theirs however to go in ahead with a strike at 17.24 from Matt Towe breaking the deadlock.

Period two saw Clan create more and better opportunities but once again it was a late counter that doubled the home lead with Shane Lust getting the final touch at 38.21.

When Joel Champagne fired in a third for the hosts at 46.53 there was no way back for Stingrays and it was a matter of Clan protecting Jones on the way to his shutout with one late Stingrays powerplay chance killed off successfully to get the job done.
