Glasgow Clan have received another injury blow with the news today that defenceman Jordan Heywood will miss the remainder of the 2019/20 season.
The 30-year-old Canadian, who joined the Clan during the summer from Dresdner Eislöwen in Germany, has been ruled out due to an upper body injury.
Heywood will stay with the Clan for the remainder of the season to finish his MBA at Glasgow Caledonian University, while assisting Clan head coach Zack Fitzgerald as a bench coach.
Netminder Patrick Killeen (day to day with lower body injury), forward Mathieu Roy (6 to 8 weeks with upper body injury), forward Jack Musil (2 to 4 weeks with an upper body injury) and defenceman Craig Moore (1 to 2 weeks with lower body injury) out of Zack Fitzgerald’s line-up.
The Clan will be heading into this weekend’s triple header weekend against Dundee, Belfast and Fife with Scottish netminder Jordan McLaughlin between the pipes once again. He will be backed-up in Dundee by Solway Sharks netminder Gary Russell, while North Ayrshire Wild netminder Scott Blackwell will ice as the back-up in Belfast and at home to Fife.
