Hawks welcome Bobby Caunce for 16/17 season

Blackburn Hawks Team Management are delighted to be able to announce that Forward Bobby Caunce has been added to the Roster for the season ahead. Bobby is no stranger to the Arena having iced for The Eagles where he has always put up good numbers, he has also previously played for Widnes, Fylde and Deeside where he has usually lead the points tally at each club. He’ll be wearing his favourite number 77 shirt.

Bobby commented on his move:

“This season I have been given the opportunity to play for the Hawks, it’s something I couldn’t turn down, I’m really looking forward to the challenges ahead, I already know a few of the guys in the room, we’ve been friends for a long time, and I was very impressed with what Matt (Darlow) had to say, stepping up from NIHL 2 to NIHL 1 is not going to be easy I know that, but hopefully if I put the hard work in at training I can fit right in with the Team. I’m a confident person and I believe in my own ability I’d also like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Scott (Barnett) and the Eagles, last season everyone who follows the club knows they had a great year making the playoffs, it was a fantastic achievement and I think they will be the team to watch this season pushing for promotion. Good luck guys.”

Head Coach Matt Darlow went on to say:

“Bobby came to me highly recommended by someone and with glowing remarks, about his ability and his attitude, and they were right, I’ve also done my own homework too, he’s a big guy who’s put up some serious stats over the years, I’m delighted to be able to offer him this opportunity and I’m happy he’s agreed to join us, and I’m convinced he’ll be an asset.
