Hawks sign Forward Jacob Corson-Heron

The Blackburn Hawks management team are thrilled to announce the signing of Forward Jacob Corson-Heron for the 2016/17 season!

Jacob comes to Blackburn having spent the last three seasons at Manchester Phoenix, where he was a part of the EPIHL title-winning team in 2014.

Matt Darlow commented:

“Jacob is a high intensity player who I’m excited to work with this season. He’s a lad I’ve known for a good many years having worked with him on several hockey camps as a junior & I’ve kept an eye on his career as he’s a guy a lot of coaches would like to work with. From an early age it was clear Jacob had the same intense focus with hockey as he clearly has in his work life running his own business. He’s an extremely smart player as well as having the speed to bother the best. Coming from a successful career at EPIHL level it was important for me to bring Jacob to Blackburn & when he features in our lineup he’ll no doubt be electric. There are few players I’d make any concessions with in regards to availability but Jacob was very honest from day one about his business commitments & I feel the benefit of having Jacob in our squad will be huge.”

Jacob commented:

“I’m looking forward to helping the Hawks as much as I can this season when my work schedule permits. I won’t be able to commit 100% to all the games but I’ve decided I’m not ready to quit hockey yet & I want to still enjoy playing more on my own terms which I can’t do in the EPL. Coming to Blackburn with Matt will very kindly allow me to do that & Matt is a coach I’ve known from junior hockey so I look forward to working with him & also playing with some old team mates. When I’m in the roster I will be my usual self & give 100% effort to the team to hopefully bring some more silverware to the Blackburn organisation.”
