Hawks sign Finnish Forward Mikko Sierman

Blackburn Hawks can now announce that our second Import player for this season will be Finnish Forward Mikko Sierman. The 23 year old stands over six feet and joins us from Mestis League Side Jokipojat. Matt (Darlow) has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to get the right player for such a vital role, we’re sure both Mikko and Patrik (Nyman) will be pivotal in the clubs progress this coming season.

Matt himself had the following to say about the capture of our latest signing:

“I’m excited to work with Mikko as it doesn’t matter who you speak to, he comes highly recommended. Mikko comes in on the back of a good young career in Finland & to get a guy with Mestis league experience is a huge plus for us. Speaking with Mikko you can tell he’s a great team guy & will contribute on & off the ice massively. I’m very happy with recruitment so far & Mikko will be a large part of our offensive output this season. I’m a firm believer that the best hockey development countries in the world are Scandinavian & Mikko certainly fits our model of offensive creativity.”

Mikko commented:

“I’m excited to be coming to Blackburn & I’m looking forward to joining up with the team. I’ve heard the league is improving every season & and I’ve also heard the fans are the best there are. I hope that I can help the team have another great season. My aim is to help the team be as successful as it has been the last few years.”

It just remains for us as a club to wish Mikko and Patrik all the best, and we’re sure you the fans will also help make their stay with us here in East Lancashire a memorable one.
