Hanson joins Clan from the Storm

Braehead Clan have announced the signing of Swedish forward Gerard Hanson from the Manchester Storm.

The 25-year-old moves to Glasgow after spending last season in Manchester, where he was a member of the Storm team that finished 2nd in the EIHL.

Prior to coming to the UK last summer, Hanson spent four season’s with the Northern Michigan University of NCAA Division 1.

Clan Head Coach Pete Russell commented on the signing of Hanson: “I am delighted to add Gerard Hanson to our roster for next season.

“Gerard is a player I researched last summer and saw on numerous occasions when I faced Manchester.

“He came into pro hockey after a strong college career and last season will have been great for his development.

“He is a smart player, makes good decisions and has a good skill set. Gerard can play up and down the line-up.

“I know we are getting an even stronger player than the one I researched last summer and I am excited to work with him during the 2018/19 season.”
