Gutwald sidelined for 4 weeks following injury

Braehead Clan have received further injury setback heading into this weekend’s home games against the Fife Flyers and Coventry Blaze.

Having picked up a lower body injury during last Saturday’s home game against the Dundee Stars. Czech defenceman Michal Gutwald has been ruled out of action for 4 weeks.

With Tyler Shattock still out of the line-up, Craig Peacock likely to miss all three games this weekend plus Tyler Scofield still not 100% fit – this is a further blow to John Tipp’s outfit.

Tripp was disappointed to lose yet another player from his already depleted line-up, but has called on his team to rally around ahead of a big weekend in the hunt for a playoff place.

“It’s yet another addition to the ever growing list of injuries we are accumulating” said Tripp. “With Peacock and Shattock already sitting out, losing Gutwald is a big blow.

“This is the time we need to pull together, stay focused, work hard for each other, play smart and keep our eyes on the prize.

“We’ve struggled all year with injuries and have rarely had a full line-up, but we’ve continued to pull together and we want to build on our two wins over Dundee.”
