Guildford Flames Win EPL Title
Jez Lundin scored a dramatic overtime winner to hand the Guildford Flames their third EPL title on Sunday. With the Manchester Phoenix losing at home to the Slough Jets the Flames knew that 2 points in their game with the Basingstoke Bison would be enough to clinch the title with 4 games left.
Everything was going well when Potts scored in the third period to give the Flames the advantage but a late Steve Moria goal was enough to send the game to overtime. After just over two minutes of play defenceman Jez Lundin netted the winner to give the points to the Flames and their third English Premier League Title in seven years.
The Flames will aim to add the EPL Cup a week on Wednesday as they face the Sheffield Steeldogs with a 3 goal advantage from the first leg.
