Guildford Flames 3 Braehead Clan 1

Braehead Clan will not be taking part in this season’s PredictorBet Play-offs after tonight’s 3-1 loss to Guildford Flames eliminated them from the reckoning.

With Coventry Blaze winning their game 7-4 at Manchester Storm, it means Clan miss out on the post season for the first time in their history.
The night started positively for the Clan when Jacob Doty opened the scoring after 11 minutes when he was set up by Adam Brace.
It only took the Flames a couple of minutes to level when former Clan forward Ben Davies teed up Charles Wells for the finish.
By the end of the first, John Dunbar had put the home team ahead with four minutes to go of the session as the game turned.
Clan outshot their hosts in the second period, but when Kruise Reddick picked up Guildford’s third after 12 minutes, it became an uphill battle.
John Tripp’s side worked to pull the game back in the third as their play-off place ebbed away, but Paul Dixon’s side held on to take the points as they look ahead to the post season.
As for the Clan, it signalled the end of the season in disappointing fashion as Coventry secured the final play-off spot once their win had been secured.
