Giants Lose Out Late To Panthers

The Stena Line Belfast Giants suffered a second Elite League defeat of the season with a 3-2 loss in Nottingham against the Panthers.

Ex-Giant Brandon Benedict gave Nottingham a 1-0 lead at the National Ice Centre however Chris Higgins brought the Giants level to leave the score 1-1 at the end of the first period.

Chris Capraro restored Nottingham’s lead by the end of the second period. Mark Garside gave the Giants a lifeline with his team’s second goal of the game but Matt Francis grabbed the game winning goal only seconds after Garside’s effort.

The Giants are back in action against the Hull Stingrays on Sunday, face-off 6pm.
