Giants Blank Blaze Infront Of Capacity Odyssey Crowd

The Stena Line Belfast Giants skated off with a 2-0 shutout win over the Coventry Blaze in the final regular season home game of the 2014/15 season at the Odyssey Arena.

A fast free flowing game entertained the 7,000+ fans at the Odyssey Arena with both net minders battling it out , with Carsen Chubak and Brian Stewart picking up the man of the match awards for their respective teams.

The Giants heavily outshot the visitors in the first period by 17 shots to 5 and took at 5.04 with Kevin Phillips firing a pin point wrist shot a wrist through traffic to light the lamp for the second time this season.

Adam Keefe had the simplest of finished 5 minutes later to double the Giants advantage at 10.38 and the 2-0 scoreline would be how the game finished despite a final period surge from the Coventry Blaze.

The Giants travel to Fife on Saturday for their final regular season fixture and await their playoff quarter final opponent which will be announced on Monday when the final standings are confirmed.
