Gutwald returns for a second season

Braehead Clan are delighted to announce the return of Czech utility player Michal Gutwald for the 2018/19 season.

The 24-year-old joined the Clan last November from Slovakian Extraliga club MsHK Zilina and went onto become a firm fan favourite with the Purple Army.
The native of Slany, in the Czech Republic, can play both forward and defence and was someone new Clan head coach Pete Russell made one of his main targets for a return.
Russell commented: “I am delighted to re-sign Michal Gutwald for the 2018/19 season. Michal is a big body, who skates well and can play defence or forward. He is like a Swiss army knife for us!
“All I have heard is good things about Michal on and off the ice for all calls I have made. He is a great character.
“He plays hard and leaves it on the ice everyday. He is a great person and another quality piece of the roster. He will be so important for us this season and give us so much flexability.”
