Friday’s Home Game Against Sheffield Steelers Is Cancelled

The Stena Line Belfast Giants can announce that Friday’s home game against the Sheffield Steelers has been cancelled and will be re-scheduled. The Giants were informed on Wednesday afternoon by The SSE Arena that Tuesday’s cancelled One Direction concert would be re-scheduled for Friday as no other date options were available.

The date of the re-scheduled Elite League game against the Sheffield Steelers will be announced in due course. The Giants will offer fans who have purchased tickets for Friday’s game a full refund or use of their tickets for the re-scheduled game – details to follow.

Saturday’s Elite League game against the Sheffield Steelers at The SSE Arena will go ahead as planned.

Neil Walker General Manager of The SSE Arena, Belfast said:

Having assessed all possible options, we can confirm that the cancelled One Direction concert from last night will go ahead this coming Friday night at The SSE Arena, Belfast. Unfortunately, that means we have to move a scheduled Belfast Giants game versus Sheffield Steelers to another date. We are extremely grateful to the Belfast Giants and Sheffield teams and apologise to their fans for the inconvenience caused – we are very grateful to them for their understanding and accommodation of the nearly 10,000 young concert fans who were so devastated by the cancellation last night. We are now looking forward to three great nights of concerts at The SSE Arena, Belfast.

We apologise again for the inconvenience caused last night and reassure fans that The SSE Arena, Belfast was only made aware of Liam’s illness just before the band was due to perform.

Tickets for last night’s performance will be valid on Friday. For anyone not able to attend the rescheduled show on Friday, please contact point of purchase for detail of how to obtain a refund.
