Friday Night At The Odyssey: Bleed Teal For Tom

This Friday’s (6th February) Stena Line Belfast Giants big game against the Cardiff Devils will also be a fundraiser for ‘Bleed Teal for Tom’! The Giants will be supporting Captain Adam Keefe’s fundraising effort for long-time fan and Season Ticket Holder, 15 year old Tom Simpson, who suffers from a very rare blood disorder known as Diamond Blackfan Anaemia.

Darryl Lloyd (pictured above & below) wanted to have his beard shaved to raise funds, but Tom couldn’t manage it, even with garden shears and Captain Keefe’s help, so grooming expert Jason Shankey has volunteered to do the honours in McCool’s after the game – so come and have some fun and make a donation!

As well as this, there will be two GIANT raffles and some special auctions, One raffle will be for each player’s “Shirt Off the Back” for the unique jerseys designed by both Tom Simpson and Adam Keefe.

The second is a Giant raffle for a list of prizes. Click here for full list of prizes, terms and conditions. The major prize is two flights to Toronto (generously donated by Fonacab), three night’s accommodation and tickets to a Toronto Maple Leafs game! The auctions will be for an additional Adam Keefe game worn shirt on the night, and a GB game worn shirt donated by Davy Phillips.

We really want to support Tom and his family but would also encourage our fans and others to sign up to donate blood with the NI Blood Transfusion Service. To register text Blood to 60081. Blood donations have helped keep Tom alive and are a lifesaving essential.

Tickets will be available for the prize draw at the Odyssey Arena, including at both Kukri Sports Merchandise stands and from official outlets throughout the Arena on the night. Also available from the merchandise booths are exclusive Tom Simpson wristbands, minimum donation £1 (all proceeds to Tom Simpson Fund).
