Forward Farrell finds his way to the Mos
The Invicta Dynamos have added to their attacking ranks with the capture of soon to be 21 year old forward Elliot Farrell who joins the club for 2019/20 from the NIHL North Division 1’s Solihull Barons.
Forward Elliot Farrell learned his trade in Berkshire with Bracknell before making his senior debut with the Hornets in 2015/16. Whilst still icing 16 times and claiming 33 points for the under 18 Drones, the skater also featured in 18 NIHL South top tier games – scoring two goals in his debut campaign in Division 1.
In 2016/17 Farrell moved north to continue his education and combined his studies with playing for the Solihull Barons. He would spend three seasons with the West Midlands outfit becoming an increasingly integral and popular member of the Barons line-up. In 2016/17 Farrell iced 29 times, notched 3 goals, claimed 4 assists and so amassed 7 points. The following term he took to the ice for 35 games, he found the target 6 times and played a role in 12 other strikes for a total of 18 points.
In 2018/19 Farrell played 34 more times for the Barons and ended the season with 19 points – 8 of those coming as he put the puck in the net and 11 as he teed up his teammates. Now though, having completed his studies further north, the battling forward returns south looking to make his name in an Invicta Dynamos jersey.
Speaking on his switch to the NIHL South, Elliot Farrell said, “I was in contact with Coach Anthony Leone very early on in the summer as I always knew Invicta was the club I wanted to play for in 2019/20. Once I heard his plans it was then an easy decision to sign the contract that would let me pull on that Dynamos jersey. I’m now determined to come into the new season in top shape and bring a desire to get the job done week in, week out. I think we have a good group of guys on the team and I have every confidence that we’ll compete for silverware this season.”
Player-Coach Anthony Leone spoke of his latest addition saying, “Elliot arrives at the club having just moved back down south after spending the last few years in the NIHL North and I’m excited to see him pull on a Mos jersey. He is a great all rounder who will add offence to our line-up, he plays a hard working style of hockey and he puts the team first. Elliot skates well, is physically strong and can carry the puck. Despite his youth he has a smart hockey brain and I expect him to have a good year with the Dynamos.”
Elliot Farrell will wear the number 44 jersey for the Mos in 2019/20.
