Flames release Braes

Canadian forward Cam Braes has been released by the Guildford Flames ice hockey club.  The 29-year-old joined Spectrum’s men this season and had 7 goals and 7 assists in 43 league and cup starts after splitting last season with EBEL outfit Orli Znojmo and Aalborg Pirates in Denmark.

The 5’10”, 180lb skater made his European debut in 2017-2018 at Swiss HC Thurgau and his official pro career began the year prior, immediately following his 5th and final term at University of New Brunswick, when he played 1 game at AHL’s Stockton Heat.

“It’s always a tough day when you have to let someone go, but it hasn’t worked out for us or for Cam this season the way both sides might have hoped.  It’s better for us to do this now when there is still some time to hook on with another club here or abroad if that is his desire for the rest of the term.  We wish Cam all the best in his next chapter.”
