Fire get going on the road with 6-3 win over the Buffalo

Cardiff Fire played the first game of the season on the road last night and skated out 6-3 winners in Hampshire against last season’s runners up the Basingstoke Buffalo

The Fire team will be the first to admit that this was an under par performance but still managed to win all 3 periods 2-1.

Robert Sedlak was outstanding and bagged 3 goals, 1 on the powerplay and 2 even handed goals. David Sadler also had a standout game scoring one and assisting 3 of the Fire goals. There were also first goals for David Christian and Tamas Elias in Fire jerseys.

With the first two league games under our belts and a 100% record attention now turns to the league cup. Fire will make the league cup debut this weekend against Slough Jets at Ice Arena Wales this Sunday face off 6pm and then play London Racers on the road the following weekend.
