Fire 5 Wildcats 2


The Fire played the Swindon Wildcats for the final time this season at Ice Arena Wales in the penultimate league game of the season as the team prepare for playoffs.

Ricky Deacon opened the scoring for the Fire after just 7 mins. Alex Madge banking the puck off the wall in the defensive zone to send Robert Sedlak down the wing, Sedlak found Ricky Deacon driving wide towards the net and Ricky placed a suburb shot passed Liam McGuire. just 3 mins later Sadler scored the first of his 3 goals on the night after a great passage of play in the offensive zone between Alan Armour and Josh Haslam. Swindon kept banging away at the Cardiff goal and got their reward from Tsyvan Dragomir with a looping shot. A disputed goal followed form Jackson Lewis Price to end the period 2-2

A one min spell in the second period from the second line saw Fire go ahead through Josh Haslam this time with Sadler getting the assist. Just 12 seconds later the 2nd line came through again this time it was Sadler 2nd goal with a full line contribution form Armour and Haslam. Period ended 4-2 to the Fire

The third period Cardiff continued to shoot (52 shots in total) but it was Sadler, who has been in great form of late, with the 5th goal. Joe Myers played the puck to Phill Manny who sent Sadler on his way. Sadler was alone in the offensive zone and took a hard shot form the hash marks, following up his shot Sadler won the puck back to finish past Liam McGuire in the Swindon net to round up his hat trick and win his 2nd man of the matching as many games.
