Finny Looking Forward

BILLINGHAM STARS continue to shape their squad for the coming season with the signing of popular blue-liner Andy Finn.

24-year-old Finn has been at the heart of the Stars defence since the reopening of the Forum four years ago. Consistent and reliable at the back, Andy also chipped in with a couple of goals last season and his return will be welcome news to the Billingham faithful.

Andy is confident that the side being assembled is going to be good enough to challenge for silverware:

“I thought last season was a bit crazy with all the injuries we had, but when we had a full team we were quality and I feel the playoffs proves this. We were unlucky to miss out in the final and ultimately finish second.

Next season is looking positive. We have signed a lot of the core team that we have had for the last few seasons. Our new import looks good and I expect he will make a massive impact in our league. I know the management will secure the last few signings we need to hopefully go that extra step this year and win. I would like to see the team come away with a title this season, we definitely will have a team that is capable to do it. I know the management, the team and the fans are all aiming towards this. Now I’m just looking forward to getting back on the ice in August and getting the season underway to see how the other teams have changed over the summer.”

We Need You!

Our new import Dennis would be interested in getting some part-time work whilst he is here in Billingham. He has previous experience as a bartender and in removals, but is interested in anything within reason that doesn’t interfere with hockey! Anyone interested in helping out please contact Allen Flavell, allen@flavellwelding.co.uk

As ever we are asking for your help on all fronts ahead of the new season – sponsors, investment, game day volunteers, even just ideas – again if you feel you have something to offer, contact Allen on the same email as above.
