Fan favourite Moore back at the Shark Tank
The BCD Solway Sharks welcome back last years player of the year, Steven Moore for his seventh season with the club. The popular forward had his best season as a Shark and put up some impressive numbers but it is his speed, skill and work rate that make him a fans favourite and a player everyone wanted back in Dumfries.
Moore is a player who is a constant thorn in other teams sides and last season he contributed thirty-seven league points and always has a habit of scoring in big games. He formed a deadly partnership with Dan Abercrombie and Connor Henderson and their quality was important right throughout the season.
On returning for another season Moore remarked “I am happy to be back once more and look forward to getting started in the newly improved league. It’s always good to face new challenges and after a good season last year we want to continue with the way we played and everyone will be ready to go come September”.
Coach Martin Grubb commented “Moorey is one of the guys who sets the tone for our team and leads by example on the ice with his work rate and attitude. He is someone who I can rely on to perform week in week out and he is someone who I think is very underrated in this league. He is a smart player who excels on the penalty kill and last year he stepped up and showed his skill and offensive threat and I look forward to more of the same from him. He’s a great character in the dressing room and one of the players who will do anything for his team”.
Moore will wear his familiar #75 jersey as he takes his place in the offensive unit which will take shape over the next few days as the team start training again.
