With an important league game, the raising of the Challenge Cup banner, cash prizes to be won, Fanzone and more – here is your Essential Guide to a GIANT Sunday at The SSE Arena…

It’s Banner Time!

The Stena Line Belfast Giants will add a 9th Championship Banner to the rafters of The SSE Arena prior to Sunday’s game.

The newly crowned Challenge Cup Champions have four “League Champions” banners, two “Playoff Champions” banners, 1 “Knockout Cup Champions” banner and 1 other “Challenge Cup Champions” banner.

In the past the organisation has waited until the following season to raise a championship banner, however the Giants wanted the players who won the Challenge Cup to be there to see it unveiled as well the fans that have cheered on the team all season long to get to share in the experience.

Playoff Importance

While the Elite League title has been wrapped up, Sunday’s game is important for the Giants in terms of the PredictorBet Playoffs.

The Elite League’s top 8 teams qualify for the Playoffs, who are then seeded #1-#8 for the Playoffs which begins with 4 Quarter Final games.

The Quarter Final takes place across two legs, decided by aggregate score. The Giants will play their home leg on Friday 30th March. The winners of each of those Quarter Final games will advance to the Final Four weekend.

As it stands, the Giants lie 3rd in the league and would play the Nottingham Panthers in the Quarter Final however, with 3 points separating 3rd-7th, that could all change over the weekend.

Keep an eye out for the Sub Cannon launching Footlong Subway Sandwiches during the first intermission on Sunday! We will also be giving away TGI Fridays vouchers, Dale Farm Ice-Cream, Subway Cookies, W5 Family Passes, Odyssey Cinema vouchers and much more throughout the games.

Remember to make some noise and you just might win the Pizza Hut Fan of the Match and win a delicious Pizza Hut pizza. You can call in for your very own Pizza Hut meal after the games – they are located in the Odyssey Pavilion next to the Arena.
