Do you want to be part of the Hawks

Are you interested in becoming a volunteer for the Blackburn Hawks?  If so, then why not come along to a volunteer recruitment evening being held on Thursday 22nd March 2018, at the Planet Ice Blackburn starting at 7:30pm.

The Hawks have a variety of volunteer roles on offer and need enthusiastic people looking to be part of the evolution of the Hawks.

What we are looking for is people with passion and commitment and we’re hoping to attract people with a variety of abilities as our volunteering roles can be tailored to suit individual skills. Roles will include running the penalty boxes, welcoming fans, selling programmes, contributing to social media, helping educate new fans about the team as well as helping coordinate all off-ice activities.

Every volunteer will receive full training and we’ll do everything we can to match skills and abilities to the most appropriate role ensuring our volunteers are fully prepared be the face of the Hawks and contribute to being part of the what we intend to be the best team in the league.

As well as providing training for our volunteers we will provide official Hawks match night wear.

Ste “Duncs” Duncombe, Hawks Player/Coach said:

“The volunteer recruitment evening will be a fantastic opportunity for people to find out more about how they can be part of an iconic name in British Ice Hockey.”

“It’s easy for any organisation to become stuck in a rut and by involving current and new volunteers in the activities of the club we can help to evolve the club to the new level set by the ex-EPL clubs,” Duncs continued.

On the evening potential volunteers will have the opportunity to find out more about the Hawks and to hear about our plans for the future of the club. The results of the recent fan survey will also be shared with existing and potential volunteers and we will also be announcing some special games to be played in the off-season.
