Day Two Of The Playoff Weekend
The Dragons travel to Coventry tonight for the second leg of the ENL promotionrelegation game
Sat 20th April
Result- Dragons 3-4 Coventry.
After starting really well it was the Dragons who went a goal behind after 5mins and were soon 2 nil down and chasing the game a little. Penalties played a massive part in game, some worthy and others a fragment of the (eagerly keen to play his part in the game) refs imagination.
On 15minutes Brian Worrall stepped up with yet another slap shot from the blue line to leave the Dragons trailing 2-1 after the 1st with 10mins of penalties sat!
The second saw more of the same, penalties and an early goal from Coventry on 24 mins making the score 3-1 Cov after the 2nd with Deeside taking 8 mins in Penalties plus a 10 min for #22 Costelloe.
The third period saw a change in Netminder after Matty Compton was thrown out the game after a bust up in the tunnel during the break (misses todays return leg).
Deeside at this point started to play their own game and on 39mins Ste Fellows got a goal back only to see Costelloe also out the game (misses todays return leg) following another 10min misconduct pen for making a gesture to their net minder!
5mins later the Dragons make it 3-3 with a goal from captain and MVP Mark Lovell. A minute later saw the removal of yet another Dragon player, Tom King (misses todays return leg) for an accidental hight stick.
With the clock running down in the games final minutes it was the Dragons who where getting penned in their own zone and on 57 min conceded another goal making it 3-4 Coventry which is how the game finished.
Penalties lost us the game, the lads know this and are well up for todays return leg and are more than capable for bring home the win.
