Craig Peacock Scoops Odyssey Double Against Panthers

Stena Line Belfast Giants forward Craig Peacock put on a Man of the Match performance to help his team to an important 4-3 win against the Nottingham Panthers at the Odyssey Arena on Thursday night. The win sees the Giants extend their winning streak to nine games and the win also moves the Giants 13 points clear at the top of the Elite League, ”It was massive, we’ve been on a bit of a run here and we’ve had that game marked in the calendar,” said Peacock. “Nottingham are chasing us in the standings so that was an important two points for us tonight.

During the game, Peacock grabbed two nice goals, his eleventh and twelfth of the Elite league season, “We worked hard on the first goal and it fell nicely to me. The second goal was on the powerplay and the puck was moved around nicely and all I had to do was put the puck into the back of the net.”

Despite the lead at the top of the Elite League, Craig Peacock knows that the Giants cannot get complacent, “Things can change really quickly in this league. The guys in the locker room are level headed and we know what we can achieve this season.”

The Giants next home game is Saturday 4th January 2014 against the Dundee Stars, face-off 7pm. Tickets are available from the Odyssey Arena Box Office in person or by calling (028) 9073 9074 or online at Ticketmaster.
