Corey Stones Stays a ‘Hawk’
After initially agreeing to join NIHL 2 Club The Hull Jets, forward Corey Stones has had a change of heart and will remain with the Hawks for the remainder of the 2017 season.
However, the Hawks management have insisted that Corey stays registered to Hull as was agreed and he will play for them when Blackburn Hawks have no games as is allowed in the rules of competition.
Blackburn Hawks team management would like to thank the Hull organisation for their help and co-operation in this situation, as it is something that happened at the eleventh hour on transfer deadline day.
Coach Steve Duncombe commented.
“We are delighted to have him back in the team who wouldn’t be, listen sometimes people make rash decisions in the heat of the moment and don’t always think straight, it’s quite clear that Corey likes it here, he’s young and we will factor that in, I’ve spoken at length with him and the rest of the guys, he’s one of us, sometimes we have to make decisions it’s a team sport and those decisions don’t always make everyone happy, nine forwards doesn’t always go into six places if we go with two lines, that’s Hockey, and I’m convinced Corey understands that and will learn from it.”
