Convincing Road Win For Blaze
Coventry Blaze travelled to Scotland on Saturday night and collected a convincing 0-2 road victory over the Glasgow Clan at the Braehead Arena.
Blaze went ahead on 14.48 when Evan Bloodoff registered his 20th goal of the Elite League regular season via a face-off win by Charles Corcoran.
It was 0-2 at 16.07 when Coventry’s red-hot line of Janne Laakkonen, Andrew Johnston and Luke Ferrara combined for the Great Britain International to score his league-leading 29th goal of the regular season.
In the second period, Blaze were forced to kill two Clan penalties but all in all managed to keep the Scottish side at bay quite comfortably.
It was a similar story in the third as C.J. Motte in the Coventry goal was kept busy, but with much of his work routine, the Blaze skated away from Glasgow with a solid 0-2 road victory.
Head Coach Danny Stewart said, “It was a good road game. After a long bus trip, we had a perfect first period going in 0-2 up. They had a bit of a push back and forced Motte into some saves but overall whilst it wasn’t our prettiest, I thought it was a smart game from us.”
