Coach Duncombe Gets ‘Fone’ Contract
Blackburn Hawks team management and coaches are pleased to announce the signing of Net-minder Stephen Fone for the 2017/2018 season. Stephen has played for Manchester Phoenix for eight seasons before they folded mid-season last year. His decision to sign for the Blackburn Hawks means he will be joining former team mates Luke Boothroyd and Lewis Baldwin in the line up.
He is a very well-rounded Net-minder who has a bag full of experience playing at a high level. We are really looking forward to getting Stephen on the ice and between the pipes to see what he can bring to the team.
After speaking with Dunc’s earlier today he had this to say.
“As soon as I knew BT (Stephen Fone) was available, it was too good of an opportunity to miss. He is an EPL standard Net-minder who will in no doubt raise the level on training as well as keeping up in those tight games. I can’t wait to get him on the ice and put him through his paces here in Blackburn,
As a team I feel we are going in the right direction with the signings so far and the team is coming together nicely but September is a long way off yet so all I can say is watch this space for more signing news”
We had chance to catch up with Stephen Fone (BT) yesterday and he had this to say about joining Blackburn Hawks.
“I’m delighted to be joining up with the Hawks for this coming season. It’s looking like it will be a tough league but Dunc’s is building a strong team so I’m excited for the challenge ahead and the prospect of bringing some silverware back to Blackburn. I’ve heard great things about the organisation and the fan base here so it was an easy decision for me to join the club. I can’t wait to get going with the team and get back out on the ice come September!”
Thanks to all you fans for your support and creating a buzz around Blackburn again it’s starting to feel really good.
