Clan face hosts in Scottish Elite Cup

Braehead Clan have been drawn to face the hosts, the Edinburgh Capitals in this year’s Scottish Elite Cup.
The draw took place on Sunday at Murrayfield as the four Scottish sides learned of their opponents in the tournament.
Clan Hockey & Operations Director Gareth Chalmers, who attended the draw, believes it has the makings of a good tie with two brand new teams going head to head.
“The fact we’ve been drawn to face the Capitals is an intriguing one, considering the amount of new faces that will be at the club next season,” Chalmers said.
“It gives us an early idea of what to expect with Edinburgh in this game and I was pleased to have seen us draw them.
“It’s a tournament for us all to look forward to in a new campaign and I’m sure the Purple Army will be there in their numbers to support John Tripp and the team.
“Thank you to Edinburgh for their hospitality at the draw and we look forward to going there in the Scottish Elite Cup next month.”
The tie between Clan and the Caps will be the second of the two semi-finals taking place Saturday 9th September.
The winners of the other tie between Dundee Stars and Fife Flyers will play the winner with the third place play-off and final taking place on Sunday 10th September.
