28-year-old centreman Matt Haywood has signed with the Clan for a tenth season. Originally from Doncaster he is the Clan’s longest-serving player, having joined the club during its inception in 2010.
Over his ten year spell at the club, Matt has scored 70 goals and assisted on 113 occasions.
Matt is the current record appearance holder for Clan, with 448 games – beating the nearest contender Zach Sullivan by 188 games.
The first ever Clan player to achieve ten years at the club, he is also the Clan’s second-highest point scorer, goal scorer, and assist provider.
We are delighted to announce that this season will be his testimonial year, with events being scheduled throughout the year.
Head Coach Zack Fitzgerald is delighted to secure the signature of such a distinguished player:
“Matt has been the heart of the Clan since its inception. He works hard for this organisation and brings experience, leadership and work ethic.” confirmed Fitzgerald.
“He scored some critical goals and was involved in highlight moments last season.
“I know what I am getting with Matt in practice and in games, we are pleased he has been so loyal to the team over the years.
“Testimonial seasons are exciting to be apart of, we look forward to supporting Matt through it! Welcome back Woody!“
