Captain Elliott Re-signs!

Oxford City Stars captain Darren Elliott has re-signed for the club for his 18th season at Oxpens.

The 38-year-old forward who has played more than 300 games for the Stars is as eager as ever to compete for his home-town club.

Darren said: “When it comes to signing for the Stars it’s a no brainer for me. I’ve played here for the larger part of my hockey life and it’s my home town. I started here and it’s my dream to finish here.

“I love this club and team and the fact that we have a large home-grown talent in our squad is amazing, the coaching staff always manage to add with a bit of experience from elsewhere and it makes us a force to be reckoned with.

“I would want nothing but to be able to lead this team out again for another year. We achieved great things last season and with what’s going on within the club off the ice I can only look forward to trying to better last season in the coming months.”

Head Coach Kenny Redmond added: “Darren has been a true leader for the Stars for many years. He plays a massive leadership role both on and off the ice. A real role model for any player a as a future captain.”
