Captain Adam Keefe Returns To Giants Lineup

Stena Line Belfast Giants Captain Adam Keefe will return to the lineup on Saturday night to lead his team in Wales as they take on the Cardiff Devils. Keefe returns from a three game suspension following an Elite League Disciplinary  Committee decision to upgrade his penalty in the win against the Dundee Stars on 20th September. While the Giants captain missed wins against the Braehead Clan and Hull Stingrays, Keefe’s absence was evident in a 3-2 loss to the Nottingham Panthers last weekend and he is a relieved man to pull on a Giants jersey once again:

“It’s never fun to watch especially going into a big weekend like I missed. As soon as the Hull game was over I was happy to know that i’m playing this weekend. We’re not going to be intimidated going to Cardiff – it’s a physical place to play in. Right now our mindsets are on Cardiff and coming home with two points and as soon as that game is over i’m sure we’ll start looking to the Sheffield game – it’s a big couple of weeks and we are looking forward to it.”

Giants Defenceman Robby Sandrock was also relishing the prospect of having teammate Adam Keefe return to the lineup against the Cardiff Devils this Saturday:

“It’s huge (Keefe’s return) – ‘Keefer’ is our leader on and off the ice and he always does everything he can to help us win and it hurt not having him in the lineup. He’s a huge, important part of this team and we just can’t wait to have him back in the lineup.”

“We can focus all week on just one team (Cardiff) rather than having to play two teams. For us, though, we go into every game not thinking about the game after – it’s that game right now that’s important and that’s the way we approach every game.”
