Cal Working Hard for Silverware

BILLINGHAM STARS this week reveal four forward signings, starting with last season’s Players Player of the Year, Callum Davies.

Billingham fans will be delighted to see 23-year-old Davies return, the popular centre has been honoured at every senior presentation ceremony since the Stars inaugural season and puts in 110% every time he pulls on the shirt. Cal missed just one game last season and chipped in twelve goals as part of the formidable ‘Barcelona Line’.

Cal is confident that a little more luck will see the Stars win trophies next season:

“Last year was a bit of a crazy season that was injury-plagued yet again, but I feel we showed good character to stick with it and get a second place finish and also put up a good playoff run. Last season’s playoffs was one of the more exciting weekends of hockey I’ve been involved in with plenty of goals, it was just a shame that it came to an end the way it did. I feel like we definitely have what it takes to go one better this year and win the whole thing and bring some silverware back to the Forum.

My own personal ambitions for next year are very similar to how they have always been, and that is just to play my best and bring whatever I can to the team every shift, whether that be a goal, assist, or just high work ethic. I am expecting more big things from our line this year too as we have played together since we were kids and seem to know exactly where each other will be on the ice. Hopefully from the lines point of view we will have another successful season only with a bit more luck on our side and a few more goals.”

There could be a theme to some of this week’s signings (Cal’s interview may be a bit of a clue!) so keep watching the website and Stars social media for the latest news.

We Need You!

Our new import Dennis would be interested in getting some part-time work whilst he is here in Billingham. He has previous experience as a bartender and in removals, but is interested in anything within reason that doesn’t interfere with hockey! Anyone interested in helping out please contact Allen Flavell,

As ever we are asking for your help on all fronts ahead of the new season – sponsors, investment, game day volunteers, even just ideas – again if you feel you have something to offer, contact Allen on the same email as above.
