Buzz-y pre-season for Tigers as Bracknell present test

English Premier League champions The Tigers will play Bracknell Bees in a pre-season series of game next month.

The Telford men will travel to Berkshire on Saturday, August 29th, before a return encounter in Shropshire the next day.

The Bees finished bottom of the EPL last season, but following a summer or reorganisation, are aiming be play-off challengers.

Tigers Head Coach, Tom Watkins, is expecting a tough examination of his side’s credentials.

He said: “This will be our first chance to see next season’s team on the ice, and playing against a fellow EPL side.

“Bracknell didn’t have a great season last time round, but they have improved greatly over the summer.

“It will be an excellent opportunity to get our legs moving against a very good side.”

The Bees are part-owned by Red Hockey, who fully own The Tigers and Deeside Dragons, while also retaining a strake in Manchester Phoenix.

Watkins added: “It will be great to bring a fellow Red Hockey club up to Shropshire and give them a taste of what to expect next season.

“Last season was a wonderful achievement for everybody involved, but we must now look to the future.”

The Tigers will also play Elite League play-off winners Coventry Blaze, as part of their preseason schedule.
