Boxill Excited To Compete For League Title In Belfast

Jonathan Boxill, newly signed to the Stena Line Belfast Giants roster for the 2015/16 Elite League season, has said that he is excited to get to Belfast and begin the campaign to bring back the Elite league title to the city.

The Giants last won the title in 2014 and following last season’s fifth place finish – the English forward is ready for the challenge following his fresh move from rivals, the Nottingham Panthers,

“It’s obviously a well respected club and they (Belfast) expect winning after having had some good years. It was an opportunity that came about which included education – which is very important for me.”

“It’s always been one of the premier clubs in UK hockey and from a players perspective, they’re a well respected club with great facilities. It is a good opportunity for me to better myself as a hockey player as well as with the education.”

“The opportunity to win a championship is very good and I can’t wait to get on the ice and win a league title – which is something that I have yet to do and I would really like to do that.”
