Boström Billingham Bound!
Billingham Stars management can today officially unveil their latest addition to the 2015-2016 roster as Swedish forward Dennis Alexander Boström joins from Norwegian First Division side Narvik IK.
At 6’2″ and 220 lbs, 23-year-old Boström will cut an imposing figure up-front as the Stars signal their intent to mount a serious challenge for silverware this season. Boström hails from UmeÃ¥ in Northern Sweden (around 370 miles north of Stockholm), and it is here that he played all of his junior hockey, coming up through the ranks of local club IF Björklöven and eventually making the senior side that played in Swedish Division 1 (the third tier of Swedish ice hockey) for season 2010-2011. Dennis then moved to local rivals and rink-share side Tegs SK where he stayed for three seasons, scoring ten goals again in Swedish Division 1. Last year Dennis moved away from his home town to join Narvik IK (also known as the Arctic Eagles), helping them to fourth spot in the Norwegian First Division (the second tier of Norwegian ice hockey).
Stars General Manager Allen Flavell is looking forward to seeing big things from Dennis, who will wear the number 71 jersey:
“This is great news for the club. Dennis is a big physical forward with plenty of hockey experience behind him – he’s looking to show the fans at Billingham what he can do! Â
After a long stint in his home town of UmeÃ¥ Dennis decided to go to Norway for one year. Now he’s keen to move on and he thinks England and particularly here with Billingham Stars will be a good challenge and opportunity for him. He is looking forward to coming and can’t wait for the season to start.”

Boström’s signing is sure to fire up the rest of the squad as the new NIHL North campaign looms. Keep watching the website and Stars social media for the latest news!
We Need You!
Our new import would be interested in getting some part-time work whilst he is here in Billingham. He has previous experience as a bartender and in removals, but is interested in anything within reason that doesn’t interfere with hockey! Anyone interested in helping out please contact Allen Flavell, firstname.lastname@example.org
As ever we are asking for your help on all fronts ahead of the new season – sponsors, investment, game day volunteers, even just ideas – again if you feel you have something to offer, contact Allen on the same email as above.
