Bees & Phoenix Call For Team Concentration
Telford Tigers will be told to ignore outside distractions as they prepare to extend their unbeaten run against Bracknell Bees and Manchester Phoenix this weekend.
A run of ten wins in the last 13 games has given Telford a lofty position in the top three of the EPL form table, with the end-of-season play-offs now a realistic prospect.
Saturday’s visit of Bracknell to Telford Ice Rink (5.30pm) is a chance for the Tigers to gain further ground on those sides competing amongst them in the mid table standings.
But with almost a third of the season still to play, head coach Tom Watkins is urging his side to concentrate on their own preparations.
He said: “When we play those sides around us, it will always be a big game. People can call it a four-point match, but there is still a long way to go, whatever happens.
“Virtually every game over the last six weeks has been against a team in the similar position to us. There is a massive battle from fifth down, but there are a lot of points to fight for.
“We just have to quietly go about our own business and do what we need to do. If we can do that against sides like Bracknell, then we will be fine.â€
