Beca returns to the Clan

Braehead Clan are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian forward Matt Beca for the 2018/19 season.

The 32-year-old signs from Elite Ice Hockey League rivals the Manchester Storm, where he scored 25 goals and assisted on 51 others during the 2017/18 season.
Beca returns to Glasgow having been a member of the 2016/17 Clan team that won the Gardiner Conference and finished in fifth place.
The Clan fought off competition from the Belfast Giants, Manchester Storm, Nottingham Panthers and a host of European clubs for Beca’s signature.
“I am absolutely delighted to announce the return of Matt Beca for the season ahead” confirmed Clan head coach Pete Russell.
“It has been an ongoing recruitment process from the minute the EIHL play-offs were completed and from the first communication I knew it wouldn’t happen overnight.
“However, it’s been worth the wait and again I am delighted Matt has chosen us over the other great offers he had on the table.
“Matt is a high scoring forward every season and that doesn’t just happen by luck. You don’t get the points return that he does, without working hard and competing hard in tough situations you face.
“For us to be an organisation that competes every night in the EIHL, we need as many different elements and players who can make a difference offensively.
“Matt Beca is a game changer, he makes things happen and he makes others better around him.
“Again, we are delighted to add Matt is our already exciting looking roster and I am sure the Purple Army will be delighted also”.
